I need your help! My DOU (dear old uncle, for those of you not in the loop) gifted us a Kindle as a wedding/anniversary present and I need book suggestions! I'm really looking forward to so many reading options on the metro, by the pool, and for all the travel I'll be doing this summer and fall.
SO! Please leave reading suggestions in the comments. They can be old or new titles. Popular or obscure. I just need direction.
Now, off to write this paper so I'll be able to read for enjoyment when I'm done!
I just read The Other Boleyn Girl and The Boleyn Inheritance...very good! The author has a lot more books too that I haven't gotten to yet. Also might want to check out the Mitford series, about a preacher in a small town in NC :) Cute stuff!
ReplyDeleteOH and if you haven't read My Sister's Keeper, DO IT! WAY better than the movie...all of her stuff is supposed to be pretty good.
ReplyDeleteMost amazing marriage book I've ever read that really changed my perspective was a book called "Love and Respect" by emerson eggerichs. It's a GREAT read!
ReplyDeleteThe Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett is GREAT. I listened to the audiobook and loved it. It's quite long, but well worth the time investment.
ReplyDeleteI would suggest:
ReplyDelete(1) "Are you there Vodka? It's me, Chelsea" by Chelsea Handler if you want to laugh out loud to yourself
(2) "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle" if you want a darker but very well written story
(3) "Kafka by the Shore" if you like intertwined vignette books/quirky Japanese writing
(4) "A Spot of Bother" if you like dark comedy (the author also wrote "The Curious Incident of a Dog in the Nighttime" which is also a great book)
I could keep going but I'll stop there...oxox
well hey, if you like Twilight, what about the True Blood series?
